I like to think that after the events of his overblot, he tries to loosen up a bit and experiment with his appearance without the threat of his mother’s reprimands at NRC. I also made his eyes a little more vibrant just because.

I also considered giving him tentacles for hair like in splatoon (one of my biggest hyperfixations before TWST). Also partially inspired by how @blondeaxolotl draws Azul too! Did a screencap edit to practice.

Hiii!!! I’m so sorry for such a late reply! Finals week absolutely wrecked me so I didn’t have time to do requests until now (and I reached 400 followers during that time holy shit—), but here he is!

To be honest? It’s kinda my first time drawing Azul, along with the majority of the cast. It took me a while to gain the confidence to draw fanart over the years because I’m always so worried I won’t do them justice lol. But he turned out great!

I made his hair a little curlier and gave him more of a hooked nose, similar to how Ursula’s looked in the original movie. I also made his face a little softer and gave him a dimple on his right cheek just for fun.
